Indulgent Ibiza

If you know me or you’ve been following my page for a while now, you’ll know I love everything about Ibiza. Having worked and lived there for three summers when I was younger, I’ve also returned year after year on both adults-only and family holidays with my wife and kids.

Known for its hedonistic partying days Ibiza is and always will be a place to let your hair down and lose your inhibitions if that’s what you want, but there is another side to Ibiza. Beautiful coastlines and secluded coves, crystal clear waters and untouched natural beauty. If you are old enough to remember the famous Bounty advert, that was actually filmed in Formentera, a small island just off the south coast of Ibiza.

Ibiza really does have something for everyone and since I’ve started going with my wife and kids I’ve had so many experiences that differed hugely from when I worked there. I have definitely found a different side to the island since returning as a family and it has made me realise how much I took for granted living there for so long.

My perfect week in Ibiza…

Sunday: Bennirras Beach to chill with the hippies, relax and watch the beautiful Ibizan sunset
Monday: Chill by the pool, take a walk down to the beach and then head to Babylon Beach Club for a few chilled drinks
Tuesday: Blue Marlin for some lunch, a few cocktails and an afternoon lazing in the sun
Wednesday: Head to Es Cana for the famous Hippy Market and spend the day browsing stalls and drinking mojitos
Thursday: Boat trip to the beautiful Formentera
Friday: Another day by the pool followed by an early evening visit to Ibiza Old Town to explore ‘Dalt Vila’
Saturday: A visit to Es Vedra before finishing off the week at Kumharas in San Antonio Bay, one of my favourite spots to watch the sunset

My personal recommendations…

Favourite Bar: Babylon Beach, Santa Eulalia
Favourite Restaurant: Bambuddha Grove
Favourite Club: Amnesia
Favourite Beach: Benirras
Favourite Hotel: Grand Palladium Palace, Playa den Bossa
Favourite Resort: Santa Eulalia (with the Family) or Playa den Bossa (if partying)
Favourite Attraction: Dalt Vila, Ibiza Old Town

Keep your eyes peeled for my next recipe as I’ll be sharing my Ibiza inspired Spanish banquet, consisting of paella, patatas bravas and prawns pil pil.
